Description

Who We Are

Beyond Marketing (BMK) is a full-service marketing agency with 35 years of history right here in the greater Wheeling area. We work with clients across a wide range of industries: banking, healthcare, hospitality, tourism, entertainment, and more. We deliver everything from brand strategy and advertising to digital marketing, media, and public relations.

We're one of only a few agencies of our kind in this region, and our creative work is the engine behind it all. If you want to build a design career close to home, surrounded by people who genuinely like the work they do and the people they do it with, keep reading.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Graphic Designer to join our creative team. This role blends traditional graphic design with web and UX design. You'll be shaping everything from brand identities and print collateral to the look and feel of client websites. You don't need to walk in with every skill mastered. You need a strong design foundation, a genuine curiosity about how things work, and the openness to learn and grow alongside a team that will invest in you.

You'll work under the guidance of an experienced Graphic Designer, collaborating with clients and colleagues to translate ideas into visual media that connects with the people it's meant for - the kind of work clients are proud to put their name on.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to understand each project's audience, goals, and message
  • Design across both print and digital: from logos, brand identities, and collateral to website layouts and user experiences
  • Create or select graphics, illustrations, infographics, icons, and photography that bring a brand to life
  • Support web design and UX projects, including page layouts, user flows, and visual consistency across digital platforms
  • Follow and help maintain brand standards to create cohesive, on-brand work across every channel
  • Build collateral and advertising: think annual reports, brochures, signage, event materials, digital and social graphics, presentations, and more
  • Develop concepts and visuals for comprehensive, multi-platform campaigns
  • Engage fully in the creative feedback process, refining and revising work as projects evolve
  • Prepare final deliverables with an eye for detail, from pre-press print files to polished digital assets

Requirements

Who You Are

  • You have a bachelor's degree in graphic design or equivalent experience. A degree isn't the only path in. A strong portfolio built on real-world chops works too.
  • You're proficient in the Adobe Creative Cloud: specifically InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • You're a problem-solver at heart. You can take a vague creative brief and turn it into something sharp, unified, and on-message.
  • You're collaborative. You take feedback well, contribute your own ideas freely, and know how to work with, not just for, a team.
  • You're organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines without dropping the ball.
  • You communicate clearly, whether you're presenting concepts to the team or talking through revisions with a client.
  • You're curious and coachable. The right hire doesn't need to know it all on day one. Just the drive to keep learning.
  • You're comfortable with technology, genuinely curious about new tools, and always looking for a smarter or faster way to get the work done.

Bonus Points (But Not Required)

  • Experience with brand identity and brand strategy work
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Comfort with UX/UI principles or prior web design experience

What We Offer

  • A salary of $32,000-$45,000, commensurate with experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Generous PTO and paid parental leave
  • Hands-on mentorship from an experienced Graphic Designer to help you succeed
  • A front-row seat at one of the region's few full-service marketing agencies
  • A close-knit, high-performing team that's genuinely invested in your growth
  • The chance to build a meaningful creative career close to home
