Regional Director of Nursing - State Veterans Homes Â
STGi is seeking qualified candidates for this position in connection with an active Request for Proposals (RFP).  Hiring for this role is contingent upon STGi's selection as the successful awardee. Â
JOB SUMMARY:Â
The Regional Director of Nursing (RDoN) provides strategic and operational leadership for clinical services across multiple long-term care facilities within an assigned region. This role ensures high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, clinical excellence, and consistent implementation of organizational policies and best practices. The RDoN partners closely with facility leadership to drive outcomes, support staff development, and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Travel is required and is extensive throughout assigned region.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Â
Clinical Leadership & Quality of CareÂ
Oversee and support clinical operations across multiple skilled nursing and/or assisted living facilitiesÂ
Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care in accordance with federal, state, and local regulationsÂ
Monitor clinical quality indicators (e.g., infections, falls, wounds, hospital readmissions) and implement improvement plansÂ
Support survey readiness and lead follow-up actions for regulatory surveys, audits, and complaintsÂ
Regulatory ComplianceÂ
Ensure compliance with CMS, state DOH, and other regulatory agenciesÂ
Provide guidance and oversight related to MDS accuracy, care planning, documentation, and clinical policiesÂ
Collaborate with facility teams to address deficiencies and sustain corrective actionsÂ
Operational SupportÂ
Partner with Regional and Facility leadership to align clinical operations with organizational goalsÂ
Support staffing models, clinical scheduling, and competency validationÂ
Assist in onboarding, mentoring, and performance management of Directors of Nursing and clinical leadersÂ
Education & Staff DevelopmentÂ
Promote evidence-based practice and ongoing clinical educationÂ
Identify training needs and coordinate education initiatives to improve outcomesÂ
Support leadership development and succession planning within the regionÂ
Collaboration & CommunicationÂ
Serve as a clinical resource to Administrators, Directors of Nursing, and interdisciplinary teamsÂ
Participate in regional and corporate meetings and initiativesÂ
Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and external partnersÂ
