Job description

Salary Range:$142,700.00 To $171,240.00 Annually The Regional Director of Development (RDD) supports Major Gift initiatives in the assigned area. The RDD works in tandem with area volunteer leaders and appropriate professional leadership to develop and execute a fundraising strategy for current and prospective major donors in the Metro region. The RDD will have his/her own portfolio of donors and will supervise a regional team of fundraisers. This role will be responsible for building the pipeline of major donors and establish realistic and ambitious goals over time.

The Director’s personal fundraising will focus on the NY Metro region and New Jersey. Duties and Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of Hadassah and its gift and recognition policies Partner with national, regional, and local volunteers with a focusing on major gifts of $25,000 or more Build a personal portfolio of major donor prospects and donors at all stages of development and develop a robust new prospecting process including participation as needed in principal gifts prospecting and strategy-building In close coordination with the Senior Director, Principal & Major Gifts ensure the priorities of the HWZOA are effectively communicated to the team and the region Establish a supervision protocol that includes ensuring the team’s understanding of pipelines, challenges, and opportunities for learning Work with appropriate staff and volunteers to ensure the fundraising success of regional events that are focused on current major donors, or engaging new major donor prospects Mentor  regional staff and volunteers in all aspects of individual and relationship-based fundraising Assist in preparing the region’s budget and expenses Collaborate with Hadassah Office in Israel (HOI) on appropriate proposals, donor strategy, donor visits, and additional tasks as needed Maintain effective communications with area and national volunteers and staff Submit donor contact and fundraising activity reports as required, input donor activity info into database, and ensure all fundraisers in the region are doing the same Provide reports on progress of the region as requested Other duties and special projects as required Required Knowledge, Education, Experience BA plus 7-10 years relevant experience Ability and proven track record of directly and independently soliciting and closing major gifts Experience working with volunteers at all levels, as well as training and partnering with them for individual donor cultivations and solicitations Database and computer literacy, specific knowledge of Salesforce and Monday preferred Knowledge of and level of comfort with development best practices Ability to represent Hadassah at public events Responsive to deadlines and service to multiple assignments Required Skills: Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including strong diplomatic skills Strong organizational skills Ability to work independently in a hybrid/remote environment, as well as with teams Ability to impart enthusiasm and positive image of Hadassah Knowledge and familiarity with the Metro Jewish community and the Jewish philanthropic community Regional (est. 25%) and local travel, including some evening and weekend and occasional national and international travel
