Position Summary:

The Director, Regional Development supports the growth and performance of assigned BNI regions by coaching and enabling field leaders to effectively launch and grow chapters. Working in close partnership with Area Directors, Launch Directors, and US Core leadership, the role provides strategic guidance, operational support, and field-based insight to strengthen execution.

This role operates with dotted-line influence, coaching best practices, identifying gaps, and driving consistency across regions, while aligning regional activities to BNI’s overall growth strategy.

Job Responsibilities:

Regional Strategy and Growth (Pipeline, Launch, Growth through First 90 Days)

  • Support the development and execution of regional growth strategies aligned to BNI priorities
  • Coach and guide field leaders on proven strategies to regional pipeline development, recruiting a strong launch team and launching new chapters
  • Identify regional opportunities and gaps, providing coaching and recommendations to improve performance and outcomes
  • Ensure Launch Director engagement throughout the first 90 days post Launch, in support of the Area Director.

Business Development and Market Expansion

  • Support growth initiatives including prospecting, market discovery meetings, and related training efforts
  • Identify and share proven strategies that drive successful chapter and regional expansion
  • Partner with leaders to identify and cultivate strategic relationships that support growth

Field Coaching and Operational Effectiveness

  • Provide field level coaching to Area Directors and Launch Directors on execution, prioritization, and performance
  • Assisting Area Directors on operational practices, including Launch Director weekly strategy calls, huddles and direct training opportunities, to improve consistency and effectiveness
  • Monitor regional performance trends and recommend adjustments to improve results

Performance Monitoring and Alignment

  • Partner with senior leadership to review KPIs, track progress, and identify areas requiring intervention
  • Support implementation of corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts across regions
  • Ensure alignment with organizational standards, processes, and compliance expectations

Talent Support and Capability Development

  • Support the development of high-performing teams by coaching leaders and strengthening field capability, rather than directly managing staff
  • Guide and mentor field leaders on performance expectations, role clarity, and effective practices
  • Support efforts to recruit, develop, and retain regional launch talent in alignment with business goals

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in regional or business development roles.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent speaking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of performance management principles.
  • Self-starter with outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience dealing with conflict and problem-solving.

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of BNI programs and operations
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop launch teams.
  • Experience managing teams in membership organizations.
