Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician – Waterloo, IowaEarn Competitive Compensation While Practicing in a Well-Established Cancer Program

365 Healthcare is actively seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a full-time locum opportunity in Waterloo, Iowa. This position offers a balanced outpatient-focused practice with strong clinical support, manageable call responsibilities, and the opportunity to join an established cancer care team serving a large regional population.

Practice Highlights
  • Full-time schedule with consistent weekday coverage
  • Outpatient Hematology/Oncology practice
  • Monday–Thursday schedule
  • Approximately 16 shifts per month
  • Clinic hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Adult patient population (18+)
  • EPIC EMR
  • Teaching opportunities available
Clinical Responsibilities
  • New patient consultations
  • Follow-up Hematology and Oncology care
  • Oversee administration of chemotherapy and antineoplastic therapies
  • Bone marrow biopsies
  • Treatment planning and disease management
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary cancer care
  • Limited inpatient consult responsibilities as needed
Call Coverage
  • Approximately one weeknight call rotation per month
  • One weekend call rotation per month
  • Phone call coverage only
  • Hospitalists manage admissions
  • Inpatient consults are infrequent
Practice Support
  • Two Advanced Practice Providers
  • Dedicated oncology nursing team
  • Referral coordinators
  • Triage nurses
  • Social worker support
  • Dietitian services
  • Onsite laboratory and imaging services
Patient Volume
  • 16–20 clinic patients per day
  • Average inpatient census: 0–2 patients
  • Flexible appointment scheduling
  • Established referral network
Services Provided
  • Hematology and Oncology treatment management
  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Bone marrow biopsies
  • Iron infusions
  • IVIG therapy
  • Therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Cancer diagnostics and treatment planning
Qualifications
  • Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
  • Fellowship Trained in Hematology & Oncology
  • Active Iowa License or Active IMLC
  • Full-time availability required
  • Clean malpractice and background history
  • Board Certified Oncology physicians with strong Hematology experience will also be considered
