As a(n) Regional Industrial Hygienist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading integration of Industrial Hygiene (IH) efforts across central US region with primary focus in the 3M Springfield, MO and 3M Knoxville, IA locations.
  • Provide technical industrial hygiene support related to comprehensive exposure assessment and management program implementation.
  • Working closely with 3M's Industrial Hygiene community, 3M Occupational Medical, and Facility EHS contacts to promptly address and broker initiatives for related potential issues.
  • Apply scientific / industrial hygiene / engineering principles to drive EHS risk reduction efforts and compliance activities.
  • Supporting capital projects and new or modified facilities for industrial hygiene technical quality assurance.
  • Supporting the initiatives to substantially reduce noise exposures within facilities leading to elimination of hearing conservation areas and programs.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Science, Toxicology,Industrial Hygiene (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) combined years of Industrial Hygiene experience in a Manufacturing, Research & Development, and/or corporate setting in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Experience in implementation of comprehensive exposure assessment and controls
  • Experience with chemical agent sampling and analytical method implementation and development including real time detection systems
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist
  • Occupational hygiene regulatory experience
  • Engineering control concepts and design with practical implementation experience
  • Noise exposure and ventilation assessment and control implementation
  • Strong computer and database skills

Work location:

  • Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work on-site at the manufacturing site
  • Travel: May include up to 35% (domestic)
  • Relocation: May be authorized
