ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Counseling Team Manager oversees Counseling Team programming at the Chicago location, including managing the Counseling Team staff and providing direct client services. This role operates and executes within the vision and direction laid out by the Director of Counseling. Counseling Services empower immigrant children, individuals, and families by providing comprehensive therapeutic support services, including individual counseling, family counseling, and group interventions.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, and oversight of Chicago Counseling staff. This will include:
    o Providing documentation quality control
    o Signing provisionally licensed and intern clinician documentation as assigned
    o Ensuring adherence to all Medicaid, HIPAA requirements [DG1.1][CC1.2]
    o Enforcing service number requirement adherence
    o Providing professional supervision
    o Providing clinical supervision or oversight of otherwise provided supervision
    o Managing interns or overseeing intern management
  • Monitor referral assignments and caseload of Chicago Counseling staff
  • Oversee referrals and coordination of care to external partners for specialized care
  • Manage planning and implementation of therapeutic services
  • Oversee office management in partnership with the operations team
    o Communicating with Operations Team to manage facility and supply needs
    o Ordering supplies in accordance with program budget
    o Requesting maintenance and communication with the property manager
    o Ensuring team adherence to general cleanliness and order of space
  • Assist with monitoring grant requirements and submitting grant reports[DG2.1][CC2.2]
  • Adhere to all Medicaid provider requirements in accordance with state and federal law[DG3.1][CC3.2]
  • Adhere to all HIPAA and HITECH requirements in accordance with state and federal law
  • Contribute to the development and updating of staff handbooks and manuals
  • Coordinate programming with other internal programs as is appropriate
  • Communicate with other internal programs and partner organizations
  • Use innovative strategies to develop and expand existing programs
  • Attend quarterly stakeholder meetings with other resettlement agencies and partner agencies[DG4.1][CC4.2]
  • Actively participate in department meetings, staff development opportunities, program trainings, community activities, and organizational events
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Mature and personal Christian faith
  • Committed to the mission, vision, and values of World Relief
  • Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
  • Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
  • Master's degree and full licensure required (or full licensure eligible within 3 months of hire)
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills
  • Passionate about working with immigrants children, families, and adults therapeutically[DG5.1][CC5.2]
  • Demonstrated knowledge of professional code of ethics, foundational therapeutic tenants of World Relief identified in MHPSS handbook, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions[DG6.1][CC6.2]
  • Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively in a cross-cultural setting
  • Demonstrated abilities in program management including future planning
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow through independently on projects and assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, problem solve, and exercise critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated ability to remain flexible and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Personal Christian faith and a heart for serving vulnerable people
  • Committed to Mission, Vision, and Values of World Relief
  • Fully licensed or Fully licensed eligible for LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or PsyD
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record
  • Ability and willingness to drive a 15-passenger van in urban traffic
  • Ability to work occasional early mornings, evenings or weekends as necessary[

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge about the refugee/immigrant experience is preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
  • Manager experience is preferred

$65,000 - $75,000 a year
