Amstel Mechanical Contractors has an immediate opening for HVAC Installers and Service Technicians with a minimum of 7 years Residential and Commercial HVAC installation and service experience, plumbing experience a plus, at our New Castle, DE location. HVAC Installer/Technician Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalency
  • Valid driver’s license and Good driving record
  • Vocational training, on the job training, and/or apprenticeship of an HVAC program a plus.
  • Current HVAC certification/license/ and/or minimum 7 years’ experience
·         Must Have 7 Years Residential and Commercial HVAC Installer and Technician Experience 
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating
  • Thorough mechanical knowledge of HVAC installation and maintenance procedures, building codes and safety regulations
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to complete projects with minimal supervision and/or assistance 
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work after hours, weekends (when on call), and holidays with an understanding some days may not end at 4:30pm, and you will be REQUIRED to rotate an on call shift during nights, weekends, and holidays
 
HVAC Installer/Technician Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Inspect the effectiveness and safety of HVAC systems
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing ventilation, air conditioning systems, and equipment
  • Diagnosing HVAC systems for electrical and mechanical defects.
  • Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services
  • Maintain a detailed inventory of all HVAC equipment and resources.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Participate in all technical training
  • Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customers’ requirements 
  • Ability to work after hours, weekends (when on call), and holidays with an understanding some days may not end at 4:30pm and you will be REQUIRED to rotate an on call shift during nights, weekends, and holidays*

  • The ideal candidate will possess the requirements noted.  New employees will install, troubleshoot, and maintain different brands of HVAC equipment including, but not limited to: LENNOX, CARRIER, RINNAI, MITSUBISHI, TRANE, COLEMAN, GOODMAN, WEIL- McLAIN, and more. In this job role, you will install, troubleshoot, and maintain an array of HVAC equipment including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ductless systems, humidifiers, UV filtration systems, and more. You will also be responsible for maintaining part inventories, supply requests, and work orders.  You will educate homeowners on their systems and options. This is a 40-hour+/- a week job with possible overtime. In addition, On Call Rotation is a REQUIREMENT.
