We are seeking applicants for the position of Epic Technician to join our Clinic Team. The ideal candidate enjoys repetitive motions and will be trained on the Epic refracting unit (refracting program, auto refractor, keratometer, and automatic lensometer).

Our team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and professional support staff handle all aspects of eye/vision care, from general exams to complex surgeries. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about providing excellent care to our patients while treating fellow coworkers with dignity and respect. 


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Seat each patient at the unit and explain the refracting process
  • Check incoming vision prior to starting the Epic refraction program
  • Instill drops for the use of TonoPen and dilation if needed
  • Display an understanding of refractometry and retinoscopy
  • Perform specific tests requested by doctors
  • Present doctors with accurate numbers and stated patient preferences
  • Spend 10 minutes or less with each patient 

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday FT (may work occasional half Saturdays)

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, internet, e-mail, and NextGen
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to manage stress and remain composed in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Six months to one year of related experience and/or technical school training
