Location: Field Based – San Jose, CA Region

ROLE SUMMARY

Provide field service support to Optos customer base. Install, repair, perform preventive maintenance and train customers in the use and care of Optos instrumentation. Support marketing shows when required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan installation of new customer sites by liaising with in-house field support team and conducting a pre-installation conference call with the customer.
  • Provide optimum customer satisfaction on all Optos products and services.
  • Install, repair, perform preventive maintenance, and retrofit Optos instrument products.
  • Support customers on the operational aspects of the instrument, equipment and software.
  • Install and maintain wired computer networks.
  • Complete and submit all Regulatory and company required documentation.
  • Provide remote diagnosis/repair support when needed.
  • Relay field repetitive failures/quality issues to internal support specialists.
  • Ensure that all repair parts are on site when needed and all related CRM transactions are completed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Test repaired instruments in all operating modes per specification.
  • Represent Optos at technical shows and exhibitions as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Hands-on experience with electronics, networking, complex instrumentation, military service, or medical devices experience preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, software, network, and instrumentation issues.
  • Experience with software installation, network integration, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, schematics, service procedures, and work instructions.
  • Clear written, verbal, and customer-facing communication skills.
  • Effective time management, adaptability, teamwork, and ability to perform under pressure.
PHYSICAL/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Up to 70% travel (Domestic travel and overnight trips which may last several days, potential for international travel).
  • Ability to lift/lower/carry/push/pull 1-50lbs frequently and 50-100lbs occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity of arms, hands, and shoulders to push/pull/grasp equipment/tools.
  • Ability to work in tight spaces.

  • The base salary range for this position is $60,000-65,000.
