Job description

The Senior Accounting Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the Company's technical accounting function and leading a team of accounting professionals. This role ensures the integrity of financial reporting, drives an efficient and timely close process, strengthens internal controls, and partners closely with operational and finance teams to support the business. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with execution, while developing a high-performing team.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
• Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance management to ensure team success
• Promote strong collaboration and communication across the accounting team and broader organization
Financial Close & Reporting
• Own and drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
• Continuously improve the close process to reduce cycle time while maintaining high-quality reporting
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
Technical Accounting
• Lead the research, interpretation, and application of complex accounting standards and transactions
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos and position papers
• Provide guidance on new accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on the organization
Internal Controls & Compliance
• Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls over financial reporting• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven mindset
• Identify control gaps and implement remediation plans
Business Partnership
• Collaborate effectively with line-of-business finance partners to support operational decision-making
• Provide accounting guidance on business initiatives, contracts, and new transactions
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial representation of operational activities
Process Improvement & Transformation
• Identify and execute opportunities to enhance accounting processes, systems, and workflows
• Drive adoption of best practices and automation to improve efficiency and scalability
• Lead or support system implementations and process transformation initiatives
• Provide accounting guidance on business initiatives, contracts, and new transactions
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial representation of operational activities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA strongly preferred)
• 8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or industry experience
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (U.S. GAAP required)
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
• Demonstrated ability to manage and improve the month-end close process
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven mindset
• Experience with ERP systems and process automation tools is a plus
• Promotes a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement among team members
• Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job
