Position Summary
The Contractor shall provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management services to individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges to promote stabilization, symptom reduction, and overall wellness. The Contractor shall utilize evidence-based practices, clinical expertise, and a patient-centered approach to support recovery and improve functional outcomes. The Contractor shall function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and shall ensure all services are delivered in accordance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and best clinical practices.
Scope of Services
The Contractor’s responsibilities shall include, but shall not be limited to, the following duties:
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments, mental status examinations, and review of medical and behavioral health history.
• Diagnose mental health and co-occurring disorders in accordance with DSM-5-TR criteria and establish appropriate treatment recommendations.
• Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications, including initiating, adjusting, and discontinuing medications based on clinical presentation and response to treatment.
• Provide ongoing medication management services, including follow-up appointments to assess effectiveness, side effects, adherence, and overall progress.
• Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests and other diagnostic studies as clinically indicated to ensure safe and effective medication management.
• Collaborate with therapists, psychiatric rehabilitation staff, case managers, and other providers to ensure coordinated, integrated care.
• Provide psychoeducation to individuals and families regarding diagnoses, medication regimens, treatment expectations, and symptom management strategies.
• Conduct risk assessments, including evaluation of suicidal or homicidal ideation, and implement appropriate safety planning and crisis intervention when necessary.
• Maintain appropriate caseload and ensure services are delivered in accordance with medical necessity, payer requirements, and authorized service frequency.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and clinical supervision (as applicable) to support quality of care and treatment planning.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA, Medicaid requirements, prescriptive authority regulations, CARF standards, and agency policies.
• Maintain current licensure, board certification, DEA registration and adhere to all professional and ethical standards of practice.
• Support continuity of care through appropriate referrals, coordination with primary care providers, and discharge planning.
• Demonstrate cultural humility, professionalism, and adherence to ethical standards in all clinical interactions.
• Support the organization’s expansion into additional states by contributing to regulatory analysis, licensing and credentialing processes, program development, and operational implementation to ensure compliant and effective service delivery.
The Contractor shall provide services to adult individuals between the ages of 18 and 65, geriatric individuals over the age of 65 and children or adolescents ages 5-17
