Job Description Category: Food and Beverage Status: Exempt Reports To: General Manager Job Description As the Kitchen Manager, youll be responsible for overseeing all kitchen day-to-day operations, ensuring that everything from prep to delivery is executed with precision. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for leading kitchen team members, maintaining high quality food standards, and collaborating with the front-of-house and brewery teams to create a cohesive and exceptional guest experience. This role requires an experienced leader who can manage the operational and financial aspects of the kitchen while keeping a positive and energetic atmosphere for both the team members and guests alike.

Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations ensuring efficient and consistent food production. Maintain high standards of quality, taste, presentation, and sanitation. Manage, train, and motivate kitchen team members fostering a positive, cooperative, and collaborative environment.

Create schedules that ensure kitchen needs are met while staying within labor cost targets and efficiency. Work closely with the brewery and front-of-house teams to design and update our craft and kitchen menu by developing new menu items, seasonal dishes, and specials that complement our craft beers and ensure customer retention. Manage the kitchens budget and track expenses to maintain profitability without compromising quality.

Ensure inventory levels are maintained, manage stock rotations, and place orders for food, beverages, and kitchen supplies. Monitor food costs and labor expenses to ensure they align with the brewerys financial goals. Keep food waste to a minimum by managing portions and proper storage.

Ensure that food is consistently prepared and served to the highest quality standards. Regularly inspect dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure they meet presentation and taste expectations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.

Oversee proper cleaning routines, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and keep team members safe. Ensure compliance with local health regulations, including temperature checks, proper storage, and cleanliness. Skills / Experience Must be at least 21 years of age or older.

At least 3 years of experience in a kitchen leadership role, preferably within a brewery, restaurant, or similar high-volume environment. Recent leadership experience is required. Culinary school background and/or relevant professional training, preferred.

Must have a basic understanding of craft beer styles and how they pair with food. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse kitchen team. Experience in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.

Ability to track food and labor costs to maintain profitability while delivering high-quality food. Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Strong decision-making, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Ability to multitask and delegate tasks effectively.

Familiarity with kitchen management software and POS systems. Must have the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Utah Food Handlers Permit.

The ability to submit to a background check and drug test is required. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk swiftly for extended periods of time. Must be able to kneel and bend to obtain items near or on the floor.

Ability to work outdoors less than 25% of the time. Hearing, vision, speech, and literacy skills are critical to this position. Ability to work in environments that are smoky, noisy, hot, cold, or humid.
