Onyx Government Service is seeking a Senior DevOps EngineerGitLab CI/CD Implementation for Enterprise Data Warehouse Migration. This role requires strong CI/CD skills with extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support enterprise data warehouse migration initiatives from Oracle to cloud-based platforms.

The ideal candidate will lead the development of automated deployment processes, integrate DevOps best practices, and provide hands‑on training and knowledge transfer to team members.

This role will work closely with architects, data engineers, developers, database administrators, and cloud teams to establish scalable CI/CD solutions that improve deployment efficiency, reliability, security, and operational excellence throughout the data warehouse modernization journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise‑grade GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support Oracle‑to‑cloud data warehouse migration activities.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, and release processes for data warehouse components, ETL/ELT workflows, database scripts, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop CI/CD frameworks and standards to enable consistent deployment practices across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Integrate automated testing, code quality checks, security scanning, and approval workflows into GitLab pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects, data engineers, and application teams to enable continuous delivery of cloud-based data solutions.
  • Implement DevOps automation practices using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scripting, and cloud deployment tools.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize CI/CD pipeline performance, reliability, and security.
  • Establish documentation, best practices, and operational guidelines for GitLab CI/CD adoption.
  • Provide hands‑on training, mentoring, and knowledge transfer sessions to team members on GitLab CI/CD concepts, pipeline development, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Support the team in adopting DevOps culture, automation practices, and continuous improvement processes.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in CI/CD pipeline development and DevOps engineering.
  • Strong hands‑on experience implementing GitLab CI/CD in enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing automated deployment pipelines for cloud migration projects.
  • Experience supporting data warehouse, database, or ETL/ELT migration initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, merge requests, and repository management.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, DevSecOps, and Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and mentor technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle database migration projects to cloud platforms.
  • Experience deploying cloud data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Databricks.
  • Experience integrating GitLab CI/CD with data engineering tools and platforms.
  • Experience implementing automated database deployment and migration frameworks.
  • GitLab certification or equivalent DevOps certifications.
  • Experience developing training materials and conducting technical workshops.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in enabling automated, secure, and repeatable deployment processes while helping the organization build internal expertise in GitLab CI/CD and cloud data platform modernization.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 annually.

The salary range reflects a good‑faith estimate of the compensation for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, education, skills, contract requirements and business needs.
