Job Overview:
 
Pay Range: $50hr - $55hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Administration, or related roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Amazon Redshift.
  • Strong SQL skills for transactional and analytical workloads.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, RDS, Redshift, Step Functions, and Kinesis.
  • Proficiency in Python or another scripting language.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Step Functions.
  • Hands-on database administration experience including replication, performance tuning, indexing, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Understanding of database security, encryption, auditing, and least-privilege access controls.

Experience:

  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines across multiple systems.
  • Experience optimizing data models and query performance for relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience administering development, staging, and production database environments.
  • Experience monitoring pipelines and databases, troubleshooting issues, and implementing alerts.
  • Experience managing provisioning, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery strategies.

  • Monitor data pipelines and databases, troubleshoot issues, and implement monitoring alerts.
  • Optimize query performance, indexing strategies, and database configurations.
  • Manage database provisioning, upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Ensure database security through access controls, encryption, and role management.
  • Plan capacity and scalability strategies to support expanding data requirements.
  • Define and enforce data retention and archival policies.
  • Collaborate with analytics and product teams to support reporting and business data needs.
  • Document technical processes, workflows, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain engineering best practices.

Should Have:

  • Experience with Kafka or Kinesis for streaming data.
  • Familiarity with dbt for data transformation.
  • Knowledge of data lake or lakehouse architectures such as Delta Lake or AWS Lake Formation.
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD experience for data pipelines.
  • Basic DevOps knowledge and experience.
