Job description

Search is the front door to Redfin. The vast majority of our users find their next home by searching, filtering, and sorting through millions of listings. How well we surface the right home at the right moment shapes whether they ever come back. We're rethinking what search can be: combining a best-in-class classic search experience with a conversational AI Companion that understands what people actually want.
That's where you come in. We're looking for a talented Senior Product Manager to own Search across both Redfin's classic search and conversational AI on web and apps. You'll set the strategy for how buyers discover homes on Redfin, lead a cross-functional team to ship it, and dig deep into the relevance, ranking, and personalization systems that decide which home a user sees first. You'll partner closely with design, engineering, applied ML, and the Conversational AI team to make search the place buyers start their journey and the place they keep coming back to.
This role is highly visible and highly impactful. Search touches nearly every Redfin user, and the bar you set for relevance, performance, and experience will directly move the company's top-line metrics.
This role reports to the Senior Director of Product.
About the role
  • Set the vision and product strategy for search across Redfin.com and our iOS and Android apps
  • Own the sort and relevance roadmap end-to-end: score-based sorting, personalized re-ranking and the experiments that prove what's actually working.
  • Closes known gaps in classic search that users notice and add friction to our experience.
  • Shape the next generation of conversational search within our AI experiences.
  • Write clear requirements, partner with design to shape the experience, and work alongside engineers to ship and iterate quickly.
  • Go deep on the technical details. You'll be expected to understand how ranking, relevance, and personalization actually work in order to figure out how to evolve them.
  • Own a set of search and engagement metrics, design A/B tests that answer real questions, and use the results to guide what ships and what gets cut.
  • Keep execs and stakeholders aligned with clear updates on strategy, tradeoffs, results, and what's next.

About you
  • Passionate about Redfin's mission.
  • 5+ years of consumer product management experience shipping web and mobile experiences to millions of users. Leading consumer search products on a marketplace is strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable getting technical. You can hold your own in a conversation about ranking models, embeddings, retrieval, or evaluation methodology.
  • Confident making data-driven decisions through deep analysis and rigorous A/B testing. Hands-on experience with experimentation platforms.
  • Strategic and execution-minded in equal measure. You can zoom out to write a multi-quarter vision and zoom in to debug why autocomplete isn't surfacing the right address.
  • Deep customer empathy. You watch real users search, you read the support tickets, and you build for what people actually do.
  • Strong communicator who can take a messy problem space and turn it into a clear plan that engineers, designers, and execs can all rally around.
  • A fast learner who picks up new subject areas quickly and isn't afraid of ambiguity.
  • AI-native preferred. You use AI tools daily to write better specs, prototype faster, analyze data, and generally do more with less. You're excited to raise the bar for what a PM and an engineering team can ship.
