Job Summary
Wilson Community College is seeking a NC Real Estate Instructor responsible for delivering instruction of the North Carolina Real Estate Pre-Licensing, Post Licensing, and Continuing Education curriculum. The instructor will plan, develop, and teach courses in general real estate. Conduct subject area research, evaluate student progress, develop instructional plans, advise students, review, research, and request new materials, maintain records, and prepare a variety of reports as requested.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to perform multiple tasks and work well with limited direct supervision
  • Must be self-motivated and possess excellent inter-personal skills
  • Must have an active NC Real Estate license and be approved by the NC Real Estate Commission to teach classes.
  • The instructor will teach real estate classes in-person and/or synchronous delivery methods
  • The instructor is responsible for maintaining instructional quality and effectiveness through constant and timely revision of course elements and syllabus to meet North Carolina Real Estate Commission requirements
  • The instructor is expected to stay current in the subject matter through ongoing professional development
  • The instructor will plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning and employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students, including strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • The instructor will be responsible for reporting all class participate information to the NC Real Estate Commission.

Education and Experience
Required
  • Associate degree or higher with an NC Real Estate License and be a NC Real Estate Commission approved Instructor.
  • Three years active full-time experience in general real estate brokerage, including substantial experience in real estate sales and at least one year of general brokerage experience in N.C.
Preferred
  • Community College teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems.
