Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior RHEL Security Engineer to support a global technology services and consulting firm that delivers innovative IT and business solutions to organizations worldwide. This position is onsite in Chantilly, VA. This is a long-term opportunity supporting a national leader in enterprise IT modernization and cybersecurity.

Responsibilities for the RHEL Engineer include:
  • Configure, validate, and maintain enterprise systems in compliance with DISA STIG requirements.
  • Administer and support applications within Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
  • Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Shell (Bash/Sh) scripts to support application management and automation.
  • Utilize SteelCloud ConfigOS to achieve and maintain enterprise STIG compliance.
  • Manage and support servers within Hyper-V and Microsoft Azure virtual and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant, and reliable system operations.
Qualifications for the RHEL Engineer include:
  • *Active Security Clearance REQUIRED*
  • 6-15 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Bachelors' degree can be used to substitute 5 years experience)
  • Hands-on experience with Red Hatch Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and DISA STIG implementation/compliance
  • Experience supporting web servers, application servers, containerized applications, and database servers in enterprise environments
  • DoD 8140-compliant certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+) required; CISSP or CISM preferred
Compensation for the RHEL includes:
  • Salary Range: $115,000-$151,000 consistent with experience
  • Full Benefits Package: PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Sick leave as required by state law.
