The CPR Instructor will lead comprehensive CPR training sessions for mixed age groups across a variety of organizations including healthcare facilities, corporate clients, community centers, and schools. The role involves instructing large and medium-sized classes, using both in-person instructor-led and blended learning approaches. Frequent travel to multiple training locations is required to deliver effective skill development and certification.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Deliver CPR training to groups ranging from 11 to 21+ participants
- Conduct CPR, First Aid, AED, and Basic Life Support (BLS) courses for individuals and groups
- Provide clear instruction through demonstrations and hands-on skills practice
- Ensure students understand course material and safety procedures
- Facilitate classroom discussions and answer participant questions
- Complete and submit class documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain professionalism while representing CPR'US
- Ensure all training equipment is clean, organized, and functioning properly
- Maintain adequate classroom supplies and instructional materials
- Create an encouraging, engaging, and positive learning environment
- Follow all certification guidelines and standards established by training organizations
- Assess and evaluate students’ CPR skills for competency
- Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to students during and after training
- Utilize both in-person and/or blended learning teaching methods
- Travel frequently to various training sites to conduct sessions
Required Certifications
Applicants must possess current Instructor Certification through one or more of the following:
Accepted Instructor Certifications:
• American Heart Association (AHA) Instructor Certification
• American Red Cross (ARC) Instructor Certification
Required Teaching Certifications:
• First Aid / CPR / AED Instructor Certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor Certification
Additional certifications preferred but not required:
- Pediatric CPR Certification
- Bloodborne Pathogens Certification
- Instructor Trainer Certification
- Stop the Bleed Certification
- Life Threatening Bleeding
- Injuries and Splinting
Required Equipment
Instructors must own or have access to the following teaching equipment:
CPR Training Equipment:
• Minimum of 4 Adult CPR Manikins
• Minimum of 4 Infant CPR Manikins
• Minimum of 4 AED Trainer Devices
• BVM (Bag Valve Mask) training device (preferred)
• Feedback devices for compression quality (preferred)
Required Classroom Supplies
Instructors are responsible for maintaining classroom materials including:
• Pocket Masks
• One-Way Valves
• Disposable Gloves
• Rolling Bandages
• Gauze Pads
• First Aid Supplies
• Alcohol wipes/sanitizing products
• Pens and participant sign-in sheets
