Job description

Are you passionate about safety and love swimming? Oakley Country Club in Watertown, MA, is looking for a full/time/part-time Pool Lifeguard - Swim Instructor to join our swimming instruction team! Offering $18/hour plus commission for swim lessons, this is the perfect opportunity for someone eager to gain experience and be part of an incredible summer season.

The pool operates seven days a week from 8 AM (for adult swim and water aerobics) 10 AM (opens for rest of membership) to 8 PM (Saturday-Wednesday) then 10 PM (Thursday and Friday). Your shifts will fall within our business hours, which run between 8 AM and 10 PM. Weekends and holidays needed, with the pool being open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Plus, if you want year-round work, there's an opportunity to transition into a different role within the Clubhouse when the pool season ends


THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Lifeguard certification
  • Strong communication skills

A high school diploma or equivalent is ideal. At least one year of lifeguard experience is also preferred.


YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AS A POOL LIFEGUARD - SWIM INSTRUCTOR

As a Pool Lifeguard - Swim Instructor, your day will be filled with variety and purpose. You'll start by ensuring the pool is safe for all members, continuously monitoring the area to prevent accidents and enforcing safety rules. You'll engage with members, offering a friendly face and a helping hand when needed. In addition to lifeguarding duties, you'll teach swim lessons, offering your expertise to swimmers of all ages and skill levels. You will be a key part of making the pool a safe, fun, and enjoyable space for members!
