The Opportunity:

Recycling Management Resources is seeking a Full Time Mobile Equipment Operator for our Haw River facility. The Mobile Equipment Operator is responsible for operating a Forklift and/or Skid Steer in a safe and effective manner while maintaining the production. Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with equipment maintenance and repairs are preferred for this role. Shift: 1st Shift 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, with extended hours as needed.

How you will make an impact:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Following all plant safety guidelines
  • Loading/unloading material from trailers
  • Ensuring correct quality of material that is handled
  • Ensuring accuracy and recording of weights
  • Performing preโ€‘ and postโ€‘trip inspections of mobile and stationary equipment
  • Assisting with preventative maintenance tasks to support uptime and safe operation
  • Identifying, troubleshooting, and reporting mechanical or operational issues on mobile and stationary equipment
  • Performing basic mechanical maintenance and minor repairs as assigned (e.g., greasing, belt checks, fluid levels, adjustments)
  • General plant housekeeping

What you need to succeed:

Education/Experience:

  • 2+ yearsโ€™ experience operating skid steers, forklifts, or similar mobile equipment
  • Familiarity with heavy industrial or recycling environments is a plus
  • Experience performing basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting is strongly preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills & Competencies:

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

  • High awareness of safety at all times
  • Ability to demonstrate proficient operation of forklift and/or skid steer
  • Ability to identify common mechanical issues with mobile and stationary equipment
  • Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
  • Comfort using basic hand tools
  • Willingness to learn additional mechanical skills through onโ€‘theโ€‘job training
  • Basic or General understanding of electrical controls
  • Basic or General understanding of mechanical systems and/or hydraulics
  • Ability to operate equipment properly and safely
  • Strict adherence to OSHA and company policies.
