Job description

The National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) is a trade association with approximately 300 member companies involved in the manufacture and distribution of hydraulic and pneumatic products and systems.


NFPA seeks a professional who can organize, promote, conduct, and engage association members in several key programs, working in collaboration with other team members and with external vendors to ensure their successful execution and continued growth in member value.


Responsibilities include:

  • Recruit members into the association, and cultivate relationships with members that facilitate increases in the number of people engaged in association activities at each member company.
  • Development and coordination of a series of in-person and virtual events targeted to engineering contacts within fluid power’s customer base, working with members to deliver effective education and information on cutting-edge technical advances in the industry.
  • Development and coordination of a series of virtual events targeted to a broad cross-section of member contacts, providing them with effective education and networking activities.
  • Serve as the liaison to designated committees within NFPA leadership structure, recruiting members to participate, coordinating meetings, and managing resulting programmatic initiatives.
  • Create original content for print, web, and digital media platforms, designed to inform members and other audiences of identified programs, and leveraging this content to better achieve goals for engagement.
  • Development and coordination of a series of member surveys, collecting information on trends in the fluid power industry and leveraging their results to create educational content and other opportunities.


Successful candidates will be creative self-starters with an inclusive mindset and the ability to produce results with tight timeframes. Qualified individuals will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • One to three years of experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proven communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to operate independently, identifying opportunities, setting direction, and taking ownership of projects from concept to execution.
  • Ability to drive progress in ambiguous environments with evolving priorities, using critical thinking to shape outcomes.
  • High comfort level in “selling” and promoting NFPA’s programs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.


Some travel is required.
