Job description

About Rivian

Rivianis on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

As a Charging Line Manager, you will lead the development and execution of Rivian’s charging portfolio, encompassing both our DC Fast Charging (DCFC) and residential products. This role is the central link in our program delivery. It requires high levels of initiative, independent judgment, and the ability to frame complex analytical problems for executive decision-making. You will exercise indirect leadership to guide cross-functional teams toward creative solutions and establish new operational processes within compressed timelines. If you are driven to define and execute a winning strategy for a critical, high-visibility product line, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities
  • Accountable for product program initiation and delivery, ensuring all targets of product (quality, cost, and timing) are met or exceeded.
  • Drive technical solutions across Hardware and Software domains using engineering first principles, even in areas outside your primary subject matter expertise.
  • Direct responsibility for program deliverable status at formal gates and leadership reviews.
  • Conduct rigorous risk management throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Lead large, cross-functional teams (Hardware and Software engineering, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations teams) through influence and framing.
  • Build and maintain high-trust relationships across the organization to solicit cooperation and drive results in a high-growth environment.
  • Maintain intelligence of industry trends, competitive product benchmarking, and pricing to ensure the portfolio remains a market leader.
  • Collaborate with development teams, business teams, and operational teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product/Program Management role, specifically within hardware-software integrated products (EVSE or adjacent industry products preferred).
  • Proven track record of taking a complex technical product from concept through mass production.
  • Demonstrated exposure to multiple functional areas such as Hardware and Software Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Finance.
  • Strong understanding of engineering theory and the principles of operation for mechanical and electrical systems.
  • High-level analytical ability to dissect unusual and complex problems that lack a historical precedent.
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain a calm, decisive presence under high amounts of work pressure and ambiguity.
  • Exceptional interpersonal styles and communication methods tailored for both technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Bias towards action mindset with the ability to build processes from scratch in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate range for California Based Applicants: $154,000-$192,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary
