JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Legal Recruiting Specialist is responsible for partnering with the Senior Manager of Legal Recruiting and the Boston legal recruiting team to attract, hire, and retain top entry level legal talent for our Boston office. Partners with department leadership to execute recruitment initiatives including the firm’s most significant recruiting initiative, the annual summer program.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Oversee the building and management of candidate pipelines through the interviewing, offers and follow-up processes.
  • Independently formulate hiring strategies and execute on-campus outreach initiatives; engage candidates at events designed to market the firm.
  • Network and partner with law school career services personnel and faculty to raise firm’s profile.
  • Strategize on the creation, execution, and management of the local office summer associate program including logistical planning, work allocation, assignment tracking, preparing for mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluations. Will organize, execute contracts for and attend sophisticated summer program social events and supervise summer associates at such events.
  • Generally manage summer associate attendance, serve as first line resource for hearing and resolving summer associate questions, concerns and issues, and other duties associated with the summer program as assigned by the Senior Legal Recruiting Manager.
  • Strategize with the practice groups to organize interview schedules, collect and synthesize interviewer’s feedback, make offer recommendations and produce offer letters.
  • Assist with the onboarding process of lateral associate and career attorney hires, as needed.
  • Maintain candidate records using the legal recruiting database; analyzes complex data to make recommendations and present reports to hiring partners and Legal Recruiting leadership. 
  • Represent the firm through membership at local legal recruiting organization; stay current of evolving developments in recruiting field.
  • Conduct market research with peer firm representatives as requested.
  • Customarily and regularly directs the work of coordinators, assistants and temps within the department.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Legal Recruiting Directors, Senior Managers and Managers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five-seven years of executive recruiting or attorney professional development experience at a mid-sized or large law firm, career services or other professional services industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database programs (e.g., LawCruit, FloRecruit, Symplicity); advanced social media (LinkedIn etc.) and web-based programs skills are highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to recognize confidential information and to maintain confidentiality of such information.
  • Ability to work efficiently independently as well as within a team.
  • Highly-motivated with strong initiative skills.

Boston: $88,600 - $135,100


This position requires hybrid on-site presence as an essential function of the role. Consistent and predictable on-site presence is required for ongoing business continuity, professional development and effective collaboration with colleagues and management.
