Job description

As an Assistant Account Manager within our Maintenance Division, you will assist in overseeing a book of business, maintaining client relationships, and managing crews that provide landscape services and install upgrades on client properties. This includes arranging, scheduling, and directing daily delivery of services in accordance with the performance specifications for each property as outlined in our contracts. You will report directly to the Account Manager or Branch Manager and work closely with other Account Managers, the Technical Managers (fertilization/spraying and irrigation) and administrative staff to fulfill your regular duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive 5 Key Yellowstone Priorities.
  • Assist Account Manager to plan, schedule and direct field operations.
  • Execute operational plans per scope of work at the direction of the Account Manager.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve or enhance properties to achieve enhancement sales goals.
  • Assist in reviewing time daily and ensure proper use of Crew Mobile to make sure job hours are being met and job costing is accurate. Identify any issues and have a proactive approach to meet crew on site to find efficiencies.
  • Quality control management and on-site evaluation of property as it relates to contract scope and customer expectations.
  • Ensure crews follow Yellowstone policies and procedures through constant monitoring, interaction, and coaching. Drive branch level safety culture that results in hitting safety targets.
  • Assist in developing crews to ensure proficiency in current role and preparing employees for advancement. 
  • Create a work environment where employees feel respected and valued.
  • Actively recruit and build your bench at all times. Follow up with new employees to ensure they become long term employees.

Skills & Character Traits

Required

  • Experience managing crews that perform landscape or related services.
  • Ability to identify plant material and insect and disease issues in the landscape.
  • Proficiency in Crew Mobile and Aspire scheduling.
  • Understand all Yellowstone policies, procedures, and safety standards.

Preferred

  • Strong computer skills - proficient in Microsoft Office, Aspire, Qlik, UKG Pro, Team Engine
  • Exceptional communication and client-service skills, with a keen sense of ownership of responsibilities.
  • Communicate in both English and Spanish.

Training Needed

  • Aspire, Qlik, UKG, Microsoft Office.
  • YL policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Contract specifications.
  • Budgeting of labor and material costs.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in commercial landscape preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience managing multiple employees preferred.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Hold valid driver’s license, pass, and maintain Samba requirements, and operate trucks and trailers in a confident and safe manner.
  • Valid Pesticide License and/or Spray ID Card, preferred.
  • Minimum OSHA 10, OSHA 30, preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification, preferred.
