This position is for Evenings & Weekends ONLY.
Albemarle Health & Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a high energy Recreation Assistant who will assist in the coordination and implementation of recreational activities for the patients of our health and rehabilitation facility. Our team members have the opportunity to do meaningful work, and the opportunity to put a personal touch on improving the lives of others. They experience the daily joy of enriching the lives of others, while building genuine relationships with patients and their families. Become part of an enthusiastic and dedicated team of professionals who share their positive attitudes and compassionate heart with every patient, family, and co-worker.
The Recreation Assistant assists in the planning, conducting, and evaluating of scheduled activities within a very successful Activities Department. Additional job duties include leading group activities, maintaining attendance records, collecting oral histories, and completing patient assessments, progress notes, and care plans as directed by the Activities Director.
Minimum Requirement:
  • Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program
  • Immediately upon hire enrollment in a state-approved activities training course.

Preferred Requirement:
  • Some experience in a social or recreational setting with older population is preferred.
