Position Title:
Student Worker - Recreation & Wellness Intramural Game Manager (Work-Study or Non-Work Study)
Job Description:
The intramural game manager position is responsible for game set-up, game scoring and management, and postgame clean-up for all intramural leagues and tournament games. The intramural sports staff provides excellent customer service to participants in the intramural sports program and aids in delivering an enjoyable, inclusive experience for the Mount Community.
Job Duties
  • Available to work most weeknights and occasional weekends.
  • Demonstrate a passion for sports, recreation, and working with people.
  • Communicate effectively while working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and personalities.
  • Keep score for a variety of intramural sports, including basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball, while assisting with other sports and special events as needed.
  • Promote a safe playing environment by maintaining a strong knowledge of sport rules, departmental policies and procedures, proper facility setup, and effective game management practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating professionally and interacting with participants in a respectful, positive, and cooperative manner.
  • Attend Intramural Sports officials' training sessions and remain current on sport-specific rules, mechanics, and officiating procedures.
  • Assist with the promotion and marketing of intramural leagues, tournaments, and special events.
  • Assist in collecting participant feedback through post-season surveys and evaluations.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for the Intramural Sports program by fostering an inclusive environment and encouraging student participation.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and facilities for intramural games, tournaments, and special events.
  • Check participants in using the Involve app to accurately track attendance.
  • Assist with equipment inventory, organization, maintenance, and overall upkeep.

Salary and Hours
  • Students are paid the current minimum wage for Maryland.
  • Students will work a total of eight (8) hours per week.
