A friendly and professional demeanor, along with a highly organized approach to managing workflow and time are must-haves for this position. Recreational Assistants are responsible for reviewing resident activity needs and planning total recreation program based on individual needs and resident interest.

Schedule: Every Sunday.There may also be some flexibility to pick up additional shifts.

Our part-time Recreation Assistant participates in the department's rotating schedule for holiday coverage.

Essential Job Duties

  • Escorts residents to/from scheduled activities.
  • Assists in coordinating, documenting, and providing recreation activities, current events, discussion groups, sensory stimulation, cultural activities, religious services, special entertainment, outing trips, special events, and one-on-one visits as needed.
  • Accompanies residents on trips as assigned.
  • Communicates with other Piper shores staff regarding resident concerns, problems, or incidents immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a long-term care facility activities program preferred.
  • Ability to work well with others in setting up events and coordinating activities with other departments. Solid communication skills.
  • Strong desire and ability to work with the senior population.
