Job description

Le Jardin Academy is looking for Extended Day Group Leaders. As part of our Extended Day program, the role of Leader is to support the development of our students, socially, and emotionally in alignment with a fun and safe recreational program during Afterschool Program. High School Diploma and 6 months experience working with 0-5 year olds in a licensed facility is required. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:15pm- 5:15pm/6:00pm. Hourly pay range: $16.50-$22.00.

POSITION SUMMARY

The role of Extended Day Group Leader will support the LJA mission statement and implementation of the summer and/or after school programs, model the school-wide Agreements and the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, exhibit courteous behavior and a sense of professionalism at all times, and demonstrate an enjoyment of working with children.


As part of our Extended Day program, the role of Leader is to support the development of our students , socially, and emotionally in alignment with a fun and safe recreational program during Afterschool Program.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and implement age appropriate lessons and recreational activities

  • Maintain classroom management and established routines

  • Support student learning during afterschool

  • Supervise students during instructional time, recess, and transitions

  • Communicate effectively with the Extended Day team

  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs

  • Communicate to appropriate persons student attendance and behavior

  • Follow all school policies and procedures detailed in the Employee Handbook.

Education:

Required:

  • High School Diploma

OR

Preferred:

  • 2 years of College


Experience:

Required:

  • 6 months experience working with 0-5 year olds in a licensed facility


Preferred:

  • 6 months experience working with 5-12 year olds in a recreational or school facility
