Job description

THIS POSITION IS ASSIGNED TO THE OSCAR JOHNSON JR ENRICHMENT & RECREATION CENTER - AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM

JOB SUMMARY

With supervision, delivers programs and events directly to the public; open and close facilities; assist with planning, gathering and organizing supplies/equipment, set-up, assigning duties and take-down for programs and events; perform cursory cleanup of facility as needed; follow all City and Center policies and procedures; responsible for the care and safety of participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic cash handling.
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service.
  • Experience with public programs/events preferred.
  • Ability to obtain relevant certifications within the time period designated by supervisor.
  • Ability to multitask.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Special Requirements:

  • Must comply with City of Conroe direct deposit payroll policy.
  • Possession of a valid Texas class "C" driver's license or higher.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The work is medium and requires the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and walking.
