Overview
The Systems Manager is responsible for the operational ownership, administration, support, optimization, and strategic direction of assigned enterprise systems and applications. As the technical and functional owner, this role ensures assigned systems are secure, reliable, well-supported, and continuously optimized to meet business and operational objectives. The Systems Manager provides ongoing support, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement while partnering with business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions effectively support Sun's manufactured housing, recreational vehicle, accounting, financial, and ancillary business operations.
Job Duties
  • Partners with business and leadership teams to understand priorities, assess system needs, gain alignment on system vision and priorities, and recommend technology solutions that support organizational objectives and compliance requirements. (Essential)
  • Leads system upgrades, enhancements, installations, configurations, and implementations, partnering with vendors and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure successful delivery. (Essential)
  • Maintains a high-level understanding of Sun's business processes and how they are supported across the enterprise technology architecture. (Essential)
  • Serves as the primary contact for assigned system support, resolving incidents and service requests, managing user and vendor escalations, and identifying root causes and corrective actions to improve system reliability and user experience. (Essential)
  • Develops and implements strategic system roadmap and initiatives to align with Sun's goals and objectives. (Essential)
  • Maintains system documentation, records, support procedures, configurations, technical specifications, vendor contacts, contract details, and key system dates to support effective system administration and operations.
  • Oversees any acquisition, disposition, and conversion activities related to assigned systems.
  • Manages relationships with external vendor partners and technology teams for assigned systems.
  • Stays abreast of emerging tech trends and best practices, recommend system enhancements, and drive the adoption strategy.

  • Monitors assigned systems for availability, performance, and security to proactively identify and resolve issues, minimize business disruption, and ensure reliable system operations.
  • Conducts regular system assessments and participates in security audits, compliance reviews, and IT control evaluations to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, implement mitigations measures, and support internal and external audit activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field (Required)
  • 5 years in experience in enterprise systems ownership, support, optimization, and roadmap planning (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and coordinate system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and support activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and reporting skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and embrace change
  • Knowledge of configuration and support best practices and methodologies
  • Solid understanding of IT security principles and practices, including access controls, data protection, and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose complex business and technical system issues and deliver commitment to high-quality solutions
  • Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise applications in a customer-facing environment, including issue triage, incident management, user support, and vendor coordination
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across diverse teams through responsive communication, exceptional customer service, and effective issue resolution
  • Must have a valid driver's license
