Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The Before and After School Recreation Staff are responsible for assisting with the planning and organization of the before and after school program at Centennial Elementary School. This will include interacting with the children during games, crafts, quiet homework time, and sports. Staff will also be responsible for passing out snacks and drinks during After School Recreation. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include:

  • Assist in maintaining a daily routine for the students.
  • Interact with the students and their guardians in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Assist the Site Supervisor with record-keeping, attendance sheets, child information sheets, and individual student records.
  • Assist in keeping the program location clean by straightening up and picking up before, during, and after each shift.
  • Assist with maintaining supplies and equipment in a safe and workable condition.
  • Assist with packing up equipment and supplies at the end of the season.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 16 years of age with outgoing personality and good interpersonal skills. Prior experience working with children and/ or interest in education or recreation preferred. 

HOURS & PAY: This is a part-time position following the U-46 School District’s calendar from August 27, 2026 through June 9, 2027. Flexible schedule allowing to work 1-5 days a week. Hours include Monday - Friday, 6:45 A.M. - 7:55 A.M. and/or 2:15 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at Centennial Elementary School (set schedule for the school year).   The anticipated hiring range is $15 - $16 per hour, depending on qualifications.
