REQUIREMENTS: BACHELORS DEGREE IN MEDICAL RECORD ADMINISTRATION OR ASSOCIATES DEGREE IN MEDICAL RECORD SCIENCE, MUST HAVE RHIA OR RHIT CERTIFICATION WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT. PREFER 2 YEARS MANAGERIAL EXPERIENCE IN A HOSPITAL SETTING. FORMS DEVELOPMENT. REPORT PREPARATION, DOCUMENTATION, ETC. MUST BE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN ALL ASPECTS AND REQUIREMENTS OF CREDENTIALING FOR PHYSICIANS, ETC.

JOB SUMMARY: THE MEDICAL RECORDS MANAGER REPORTS TO THE CFO AND DIRECTS THE MEDICAL RECORD SERVICE, INCLUDING ADMINISTRATIVE AND CLINICAL DATA, AND PROVIDING SERVICES THAT MEET MEDICAL, ADMINISTRATIVE, LEGAL, ETHICAL, REGULATORY AND HOSPITAL REQUIREMENTS. THIS WILL INCLUDE STATE REPORTING (HIDI).  ADMINISTERS THE HIPAA COMPLIANCE PROGRAM FOR WCH AND SERVES AS THE FACILITY PRIVACY OFFICER. MONITORS DENIALS BY THIRD PARTY PAYERS TO DETERMINE TRENDS AND ASSURES APPROPRIATE ACTIONS ARE TAKEN. PERFORMS ANALYSIS OF REIMBURSEMENT TO MONITOR ACCURACY, PROFITABILITY, AND APPROPRIATE PRICING. MANAGES/PERFORMS THE CREDENTIALING DUTIES FOR THE HOSPITAL.
