Description
The Garza Law Firm's Medical Records Clerk is an administrative position supporting all divisions of the Firm. The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for ordering and following up on all medical record requests for the firm's cases. This critical role helps to ensure records are matched to client charges received from medical providers.
Requirements
Responsibilities

  • Team Support: The Medical Records Clerk provides work assistance to support the firm by ordering and following up on records until received.
  • Prioritization of Tasks: The Medical Records Clerk receives tasks via the Filevine application. The Medical Records clerk works directly with those who have been assigned a task to prioritize multiple tasks by levels of importance.
  • Record Review: The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for reviewing records received to ensure they match the dates ordered and that the medical billing is also included.
  • Special Damages: The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for adding all medical bills received to the "Special Damages" tab in Filevine and tasking each bill to the Paralegal for review.
  • Case Documentation : Monitor case documentation via Filevine Tasks to ensure case files are properly maintained and tasks are completed on time.
Work Experience
Required:
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 Suite applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills used in a professional setting.
Preferred:
  • Experience working in a medical office setting.
  • Knowledge of the medical billing process and a general understanding of medical procedures outlined in the invoicing process.
  • Experience with case management systems such as Filevine and Lead Docket is a plus.
