As a Security Officer Reception in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Front Desk Officer at a dynamic educational location, you will welcome students, staff, and visitors while supporting access control and a professional, inviting environment. You will manage visitor check-ins, monitor entry activity, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns. What You'll Do:
  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Staff the front desk, greet visitors, verify identification and/or visitor authorization, issue credentials as directed, and maintain accurate visitor records.
  • Monitor entry points, cameras, alarms, and other security-related systems; report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus procedures.
  • Provide directions and general information, assist with communications between visitors and campus personnel, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
