Position Summary

The Strategic Digital Services department of the Chief Technology Office provides direction and guidance inย digital technology strategies and DIR solutions for agencies across the State of Texas. Work involves assisting strategic digital plans, goals, andย objectivesย withย agencies, IT departments, and senior leaders to align digital technology plans with business goals. The ideal student will have a high comfort level with new and emerging technology with a focus on the future. Performs complex (journey-level) work, under general supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement.

  • Researches service offerings provided by DIR contracted vendors and other vendors, as well as other emerging technology areas

  • Creates reports on emerging technology trends

  • Assists with drafting meeting agendas, power point presentations, reports, and occasional data entry
  • Assists the Innovation Lab manager with managing lab software, passwords, updates, and lab session preparation
  • Assists with technology conference preparation and execution, including conference materials, registration, and proctor support during conference sessions
  • Reviews drafted training materials and provides feedback
  • Assists with project and program planning, communication, and task management
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Education

ย ย ย ย ย ย  A recent graduate, or a student currently enrolled in a college or university as an undergraduate or graduate, with a major or course work in computer science, public administration, business, mathematics, or a related field.
