If you are a Quality Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in Rushville, Indiana, you will plan and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products.
AS A QUALITY ENGINEER, YOU WILL:
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Compare products to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality.
  • Audit assembly or production lines adhering to standards and procedures and complying with legal requirements.
  • Review blueprints and specifications to compare to produced goods
  • Train the quality associates and the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence.
  • Propose improvements to the production process.
  • Monitor the use of equipment and qualify the equipment to produce parts to specifications.
  • Create Quality Inspection Instructions determining the frequency of checks based on the variation of measurements produced by the equipment.
  • Use gauges such as calipers and micrometers to measure products.
  • Program Computer Measuring Machines (CMM's), ROI, Opticlines, and complete surface plate table measurements.
  • Create and lead continual improvement projects based on data analysis.
  • Ability to create training documents for measuring, Inspecting and following standards.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 1 year of relevant experience (co-op experience will be in consideration).
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 3 years of experience.
  • CMM programming experience.
  • ISO9001 experience.

Schedule
Assembly operates on a 4-day, 10-hour work-shift schedule. Salaried employees who are not front-line supervisors work five days to support this arrangement. They can choose between working extended hours from Monday to Thursday with a half day on Friday, or they can opt for full eight-hour workdays from Monday to Friday.

About Our Location
Our 2-building campus offers a safe and clean work environment with a "family" atmosphere. We manufacture new semi-hermetic compressors and take the worn-out, failed compressors out of the field and remanufacture them to "like new" status, as well as manufacture crank shafts. Approximately 200 employees work in Rushville and are an integral part of our organization. A 2-building campus allows for learning and growth opportunities for all our team.
