Shipping & Receiving Manager
We are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Manager to join our Chino, CA team. In this role, you'll lead the day-to-day shipping and receiving functions within our Distribution Center, ensuring inbound and outbound product moves accurately, efficiently, and on time. You'll oversee dock operations, labor planning, productivity, and service levels while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

What We Do - Accountabilities
  • Ensure proper staffing levels within Shipping and Receiving while prioritizing labor based on inbound and outbound volume and business needs.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals.
  • Ensure shipping and receiving productivity goals and KPIs are met on a daily basis.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and according to schedule.
  • Maintain quality standards while providing a high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Hold the team accountable for performance, accuracy, safety, and productivity.
  • Ensure workforce engagement in core company values through the effective execution of HR, Loss Prevention, and Safety policies and programs.

Essential Functions
  • Accountable for the daily management of Shipping and Receiving operations, including inbound and outbound product flow.
  • Primarily responsible for overseeing the Shipping and Receiving Department; however, depending on business needs, the role may also support other Distribution Center operations.
  • Serve as the functional expert for Shipping and Receiving processes, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Oversee dock activity and ensure the timely loading, unloading, staging, and movement of product.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound schedules and address issues that could impact product flow or service levels.
  • Partner with peers and the Operations Manager to adjust workflow and labor to best support shipping and receiving volume and overall Distribution Center needs.
  • Provide leadership, training, development, and mentorship for Supervisors and Clerks.
  • Implement succession planning and development opportunities for the team.
  • Lead change management and continuous process improvement efforts with a strong focus on Shipping and Receiving best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve dock efficiency, product flow, accuracy, productivity, and overall department performance.
  • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and participation that fosters a positive work environment.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert across areas of responsibility, with the ability to execute key functions and resolve shipping and receiving exceptions.
  • Engage area teams to educate and drive daily results established by the Operations Manager in a positive and safe manner.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are communicated, understood, and consistently administered.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment and drive year-over-year improvements in accident and injury statistics by leading and administering safety initiatives.
  • Ensure necessary equipment and tools are available and maintained to support successful Shipping and Receiving operations.

Preferred Qualifications & Education
  • 5+ years of Distribution Center, warehouse, shipping, and/or receiving experience preferred.
  • Previous experience overseeing Shipping and Receiving operations strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience with and be able to operate powered industrial trucks (PIT).
  • Demonstrated experience with structured continuous improvement efforts.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in roles of increasing responsibility.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong exposure to Lean Six Sigma principles preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inbound/outbound product flow, dock operations, and warehouse processes preferred.
