Description

Beltservice Corporation is currently hiring for a Shipping & Receiving Manager at our Earth City, MO Headquarters who will lead all shipping, receiving, and traffic activities to ensure the safe, timely, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished goods. This is a handsโ€‘on floor leadership role responsible for developing employees, establishing daily priorities, resolving issues and conflict, and driving actions to completion. Key Responsibilities :Operations & Leadership
  • Lead daily shipping, receiving, traffic, dock, and material-handling operations.
  • Maintain a strong, visible leadership presence on the floor; establish priorities and ensure actions are completed.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop Team Leaders and employees; provide clear expectations, feedback, and accountability.
  • Address operational issues, employee concerns, and conflict promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate staffing and cross-training to support changing workloads and business priorities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely ERP transactions for receipts, transfers, shipments, and inventory movements.
  • Support the deployment of key Supply Chain, shipping, receiving, and transportation initiatives across U.S. locations to ensure consistent implementation and standardization.
Transportation & Material Flow
  • Coordinate carrier scheduling and freight activities across LTL, FTL, Parcel, Air, and Ocean as applicable.
  • Ensure routing guide and TMS compliance and resolve delays, damages, claims, and transportation exceptions.
  • Partner with Production, Customer Service, Procurement, Inventory, and other departments to maintain effective material flow and meet customer commitments.
  • Ensure accurate shipping and receiving documentation, including BOLs, packing slips, manifests, labels, and other required paperwork.
Safety & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain safety as the first priority and enforce company, OSHA, DOT, and applicable material-handling requirements.
  • Maintain organized, safe, and efficient shipping, receiving, staging, and dock areas using 5S and visual management .
  • Lead daily Gemba walks/huddles and use Lean , PDCA , root-cause analysis , and Continuous Improvement to eliminate waste and recurring problems.
  • Develop and maintain standard work and ensure improvements are sustained.
  • Manage freight claims through resolution, conduct root-cause analysis, and identify opportunities for corrective action and continuous improvement.
Metrics & Performance
  • Establish and monitor key metrics including safety , on-time shipping , shipping/receiving accuracy , productivity , damages/claims , inventory accuracy , and backlog .
  • Use visual management and daily metrics to identify problems, assign actions, and follow through to completion.
Required Qualifications :
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, traffic, or transportation experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment .
  • 3โ€“5 years of demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O preferred .
  • Experience with TMS , carrier portals , and transportation systems preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing , Continuous Improvement , 5S , and visual management strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
  • Strong floor leadership with the ability to coach, motivate, develop, and hold employees accountable.
  • Ability to collaborate , manage conflict , make decisions , and drive actions to completion .
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to use operational metrics and data to identify problems and drive improvement.
  • Working knowledge of freight operations, carrier scheduling, shipping documentation, safety, and material handling.
