A receiving associate most commonly works in a retail or warehouse environment. As a receiving associate, your job duties include handling packages that arrive at the facility, reviewing the contents for accuracy, and ensuring the product is delivered to the correct department. You need to be able to stand for long periods of time and carry heavy boxes. Some positions also require you to operate a forklift. There are no formal educational qualifications to become a receiving associate. Many employers provide on-the-job training.
