*The jobsite is technically located in New Mexico, just outside of El Paso*


Job Summary

We are seeking experienced and dependable Concrete Finishers / Rod Busters to support construction operations on industrial and commercial job sites. This role is responsible for reinforcing concrete structures and performing high-quality concrete finishing work. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with rebar, formwork, and concrete placement while maintaining a strong focus on safety and productivity.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Concrete Finishing Duties
  • Perform layout, site preparation, placement, and finishing of concrete
  • Spread, level, and smooth concrete using hand and power tools (trowels, screeds, floats)
  • Form joints, edges, and expansion areas
  • Apply curing compounds and monitor curing process
  • Repair, patch, grind, and finish concrete surfaces for quality results
  • Rod Buster / Rebar Duties
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Determine quantities, sizes, and placement of reinforcing steel
  • Cut, bend, and install rebar using shears, bar cutters, torches, and bending equipment
  • Tie rebar securely using wire and hand tools
  • Position and secure steel bars, rods, mesh, and cables in concrete forms
  • Place supports (chairs/blocks) to maintain proper spacing
  • Assist with reinforcing steel modifications as required"

General Duties

  • Follow direction from supervisors and execute job plans efficiently
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Comply with all company and site-specific safety policies
  • Work collaboratively with crew members and other trades
  • Meet productivity standards and complete work in a timely manner
  • Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in concrete finishing and/or rebar installation
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
  • Strong understanding of concrete placement and reinforcing processes
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow all project safety requirements including but not limited to PPE, hazard recognition, and safe work practices.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass drug screening and background check
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
  • TWIC card may be required depending on job location

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and twisting
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on scaffolding
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Work Environment
  • Construction and industrial job sites
  • Exposure to outdoor elements and physically demanding conditions
  • Fast-paced environment with strict safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial, refinery, or commercial construction
  • Experience with welding rebar or structural steel
  • Familiarity with safety compliance standards (OSHA)
  • Experience working with formwork systems
