Job Title: Rod Buster

Job Description

Join a large commercial concrete and rebar construction project in Miami as an experienced rod buster. In this role, you place, tie, bend, and position heavy reinforcing steel for slabs and other structural elements, using hand tools and tape measures to follow layout instructions and placement requirements accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Place, tie, and bend heavy reinforcing steel for commercial concrete structures, including slabs and other structural components.
  • Tie #10 and #11 rebar using hand tools and tie wire with consistent speed, accuracy, and quality.
  • Bend and shape rebar using a manual rebar bender, following layout instructions and placement requirements.
  • Lift, carry, and position heavy reinforcing steel safely and efficiently throughout the workday.
  • Use tape measures and other hand tools to verify dimensions and ensure correct rebar placement.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks for the full duration of a 10-hour shift.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on an active construction site.
  • Work safely around active construction equipment and crews, following site safety practices and guidelines.
  • Sustain productivity while working outdoors in South Florida weather conditions.
  • Arrive on time and prepared for work Monday through Saturday for 10-hour shifts starting at 6:00 a.m.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a rod buster or rebar installer on commercial construction projects.
  • Hands-on experience tying #10 and #11 rebar using hand tools and tie wire.
  • Ability to bend and shape rebar using a manual rebar bender.
  • Proficiency using hand tools commonly used in rebar work, including tape measures.
  • Capability to perform physically demanding work consistently over a 10-hour shift.

Pay and Benefits
