What is real estate training?

Real estate training refers to the educational programs, courses, and resources designed to teach individuals the knowledge and skills needed to become successful real estate agents or professionals. This training typically covers topics like property law, ethics, marketing, sales techniques, negotiation, and local regulations. Many states require aspiring real estate agents to complete a certain number of training hours before taking the licensing exam. Ongoing training and professional development are also important for maintaining licenses and staying updated on industry trends.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in real estate training, and why are they important?

To thrive in Real Estate Training, you need in-depth knowledge of real estate principles, teaching or coaching experience, and often a valid real estate license. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), presentation software, and industry-specific tools like MLS platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, adaptability, and motivational skills help trainers engage diverse learners and facilitate effective knowledge transfer. These skills ensure that trainees are well-prepared for real estate careers and uphold industry standards.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in real estate training roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in real estate training often face challenges such as keeping training content current with changing laws and market trends, engaging a diverse group of learners, and demonstrating the real-world value of training programs. To address these, trainers can regularly update materials, incorporate interactive teaching methods, and use real-life case studies to make sessions more relevant. Collaboration with experienced agents and ongoing professional development also help trainers stay effective and credible within the industry.

Job description

Build a Real Estate Career—Not a Side Hustle
Getting leads is helpful. Knowing how to create your own opportunities is what builds a lasting career.
Hart Jahoo Real Estate Group is looking for full-time, growth-minded real estate agents who want practical training, one-on-one mentorship, strong operational support, and a proven path for building a sustainable business in North Carolina’s Triangle market.
We won’t simply tell you to “go sell.” We’ll teach you how to generate leads, convert opportunities into clients, and confidently guide those clients to the closing table.
About Hart Jahoo:Hart Jahoo is a collaborative, high-performance real estate team built around service, strategy, and integrity. With more than $500 million in team sales volume and over 800 buyers and sellers represented, we combine deep local knowledge with the systems, resources, and relationships agents need to grow.
Our primary markets include Wake, Durham, Chatham, Orange, Lee, and Johnston counties.
What You’ll Learn:Our philosophy is simple: teach agents how to fish.
You’ll receive hands-on instruction in the activities that create real business, including:
- Generating your own leads through open houses, geographic farming, prospecting, and relationship building- Turning new leads into clients using Lofty CRM- Following up consistently and communicating with confidence- Conducting effective buyer and seller consultations- Building a dependable pipeline instead of waiting for leads to appear- Managing transactions and delivering an exceptional client experience- Creating a business that can support a stable, long-term career
Agents may also participate in our 100-Day, 100-Open-House Challenge—an intensive opportunity to build confidence, develop discipline, meet prospective clients, and create momentum.
Real, One-on-One Mentorship:Our training is personal and practical.
Broker and Owner Julian Jahoo works directly with agents in the field, including one-on-one open-house training. You won’t just watch a presentation about what to do. You’ll learn through direct instruction, repetition, coaching, and feedback.
Reese Jahoo, our Director of Mentorship, provides individualized onboarding and development based on where you are in your career. A dedicated training director also leads weekly, in-person tactical training to help agents get properly onboarded and moving forward quickly.
The system is simple. That doesn’t mean it’s easy. We’re looking for people willing to follow the process and put in the work.
Support Behind Your Business:You’ll have a team supporting you while you focus on clients and revenue-producing activities:
- Dedicated operations and back-office support- Two inside sales agents- Listing coordination- Weekly training, coaching, and accountability- Lofty CRM systems and lead-conversion guidance- Transaction and administrative support- A full-time Director of Marketing- Custom marketing materials and branded content- Professional property photography, signage, and media resources- No monthly brokerage fees- Access to LPT Realty’s technology, tools, and nationwide network
New-Construction Opportunities:Hart Jahoo has established relationships with developers throughout the Triangle. Our team has access to a significant pipeline of new-construction communities and planned units, giving agents opportunities to:
- Work directly with developers and builders- Develop specialized new-construction expertise- Meet and represent buyers coming through new communities- Build relationships in growing Triangle markets- Participate in opportunities that may be difficult to access independently
What You’ll Do:- Prospect consistently and build your personal pipeline- Host and follow up on open houses- Respond to leads promptly and professionally- Maintain accurate client and lead records in Lofty- Conduct buyer and seller consultations- Guide clients from the initial conversation through closing- Attend training, coaching, and accountability sessions- Learn the local market, contracts, inventory, and negotiation process- Collaborate with agents, mentors, marketing, and operations staff- Represent Hart Jahoo’s standards of service, strategy, and integrity
Who We’re Looking For:You may be a strong fit if you are:
- Serious about making real estate your full-time career- Coachable, accountable, and willing to follow a proven process- Comfortable meeting new people and starting conversations- Ready to host open houses and complete consistent prospecting activities- Organized and committed to prompt follow-up- Motivated by growth but grounded in integrity- Collaborative rather than territorial- Resilient enough to keep working when results are not immediate- Licensed in North Carolina or actively completing your licensing requirements
Prior real estate experience is welcome but not required. Work ethic, character, and willingness to learn matter more.
Ready to Build Something Sustainable?:If you want more than a logo, a commission split, and a list of online training videos, we should talk.
Join Hart Jahoo and learn how to create opportunities, convert clients, and build a real estate career designed to last.
