Position Overview

As a Maintenance Technician at Nicholson Gateway at LSU, you'll play a critical role in keeping one of Baton Rouge's premier student housing communities operating at its best. From completing service requests and apartment turns to preventative maintenance and emergency repairs, your work directly impacts the resident experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete resident service requests accurately and efficiently
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, drywall, painting, and carpentry issues
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
  • Prepare apartments for new residents by completing high-quality apartment turns
  • Maintain the appearance and functionality of common areas, amenities, and grounds
  • Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls as part of the on-call rotation
  • Accurately document completed work orders and communicate with residents regarding repairs
  • Maintain maintenance inventory, equipment, and shop organization
  • Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies
  • Work closely with the property management team to deliver an outstanding resident experience

Qualifications
  • Previous apartment maintenance experience preferred
  • EPA Certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general carpentry
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work indoors and outdoors
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
