Job description

Superintendent - Multifamily Construction

Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL - The Heights at Fort Walton Beach, 266 units

Build More Than Apartments. Lead the Work That Keeps Projects Moving.

Stoa Group is hiring a Superintendent to help lead the field execution for The Heights at Fort Walton Beach, a 266-unit, ground-up multifamily community in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

As Superintendent, you'll own the successful execution of the project's core building phases, coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), inspections, subcontractors, and field operations from open wall through insulation. Working alongside the Lead Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Project Manager, you'll help keep the project moving safely, on schedule, and to Stoa's quality standards.

Our projects are large-scale, wood-frame multifamily communities developed, built, and operated by Stoa Group. As a vertically integrated company, we provide our field teams with a strong pipeline of work, dedicated preconstruction support, and clear career growth opportunities.

What You'll Do

As Superintendent, you'll take ownership of the critical middle phases of construction, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently, and according to schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Safety
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices throughout assigned project phases.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.
  • Identify and address safety concerns before they impact the project.
Quality
  • Own quality throughout the MEP, open wall, insulation, stairs, and railing phases.
  • Complete Procore phase inspections for assigned areas.
  • Create, coordinate, and close observations in Procore.
  • Ensure work complies with construction drawings, specifications, submittals, scopes of work, and Stoa quality standards.
Schedule Execution
  • Execute scheduled work within your assigned area of ownership.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to maintain production flow and sequencing.
  • Anticipate schedule risks, remove roadblocks, and communicate issues early.
  • Ensure materials are available to support upcoming work activities.
Field Coordination
  • Coordinate MEP trades, inspections, and related subcontractor work.
  • Manage MEP open wall as-built documentation.
  • Partner with the Lead Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent to maintain efficient workflow between construction phases.
  • Help keep multiple buildings progressing according to schedule.
Documentation
  • Maintain accurate field documentation within Procore.
  • Track inspections, observations, jobsite progress, and project activities.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions with the field and project management teams.

What We're Looking For
  • 4+ years of experience in multifamily, commercial, or residential construction
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and managing active field operations
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, open wall sequencing, inspections, and jobsite execution
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and scopes of work
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and jobsite safety practices
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred
  • Ability to hold subcontractors accountable while maintaining productive working relationships
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability

Our Construction Values

Every Stoa field leader is expected to operate by three core principles:

Quality
Do it right the first time.

Schedule
Execution, not excuses.

Relationships
Do what you say you're going to do.

If these values describe how you lead, you'll fit in well at Stoa.
