Berman Hebrew Academy is a Modern Orthodox Jewish day school that provides a comprehensive Jewish and secular education in an atmosphere of reverence, good citizenship, and love of the Jewish people and Israel. Our library and media center is the heart of our school, where students from preschool through 12th grade explore, discover, and grow.

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Librarian / Media Center Specialist who brings a journalist’s curiosity and a passion for reading to students of all ages. The ideal candidate inspires a love of books, helps students navigate information, and creates dynamic experiences that make the library an engaging place to learn.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cultivate a welcoming, inclusive library environment for all grade levels.
  • Develop and lead creative programs to promote reading, literacy, and information skills.
  • Assist students and teachers in finding and using print and digital resources effectively.
  • Curate and maintain the library collection, including books, digital media, and other resources.
  • Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into curriculum and projects.
  • Encourage critical thinking, exploration, and independent research skills.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Library Science, Information Studies, or related field.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
  • Deep passion for books, reading, and literacy advocacy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
