AmeriCorps is a life-changing service experience for those who serve as well as those who receive the service. Join Ohio Reading & Math Corps and make a real impact on students' lives! Our program enrolls 100 people each year to directly support over 2,000 students.
  • Seeking service-oriented people to provide elementary level tutoring for K-5 students in local elementary schools as a Member of Ohio Reading & Math Corps!
  • Work with students who are below-proficient in reading or math for their grade level.
  • Receive excellent training and be placed at one school for the school year
  • Provide tutoring to a set list of students in small groups or in 1:1 settings.
  • This is a great way to give back to the community, help students, and gain valuable experience for those interested in obtaining a job in a school district.
Districts/locations include: Maple Heights, Horizon Science Academy, Warrensville Heights, Berkshire, and Constellation Schools.
This is a service position with AmeriCorps, requiring 30 hours/week September 2nd - May 31st following the school schedule. Members receive a stipend of $1,600 per month, plus an Education Award of up to $3,697.50 upon completion of the term. This can be used to pay student loans or college tuition.
Minimum requirements:
1) High school diploma or equivalency; and
2) One of the following:
  • Associate's degree or higher; or
  • Minimum of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours from an accredited institution; or
  • Pass the paraprofessional assessment
**No maximum age limit.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
