Job Summary: Odyssey Charter School is a dual immersion public charter school looking for an experienced Math and Reading Interventionist to support MTSS in our school.  Under the supervision of the building level principal and Manager of Curriculum and Instruction, and working in partnership with our Curriculum Coordinator (K-5) as well as our building leaders, teachers, and related service providers, s/he will work and co-plan with the teachers and Administrative Team to improve student growth outcomes, and overall achievement in the areas of math and reading. The interventionist will use research-based strategies and best practices to develop instructional plans to support students who need academic support or enhancements.  The interventionist position is a full-time,10-month position.
Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain a valid Delaware Teaching License in accordance with 14 Del. C. 1531.
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Reading Specialist Certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years experience teaching
  • Experience teaching students with diverse needs
  • Experience working in a multicultural/multilingual environment
  • A global citizenship and collaborative mindset
  • Experience in providing research based interventions


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Tier 1 guidance to teachers in PLCs to support mathematics, literacy, and writing instruction as well as skill acquisition.
  • Provide Tier 2 resources and input regarding curriculum and intervention selection.
  • Schedule and lead small group instruction for students to provide Tier 3 supports across the K-3 band.
  • Support math skills assessments and literacy assessments
  • Support data analysis to provide informed recommendations for curriculum, interventions, and instructional practices.
  • Support teachers in analyzing and using mathematical and literacy data to support students.
  • Share data-driven recommendations with administration and teachers.
  • Assist in designing appropriate intervention programs for students at risk of reading loss and struggling with math concepts.
  • Provide ongoing professional development training appropriate for teachers, classroom assistants, and other specialists in mathematical skill and literacy development.
  • Participate in parent conferences, as needed.
  • Work with staff and administration to organize and host school-wide math and literacy events that promote family involvement and whole-school engagement.
  • Work with the building level administration and CIA Team to determine goals for each grade and create action plans for meeting those goals each school year.
  • Support problem solving teams at assigned schools to review data and determine levels of support needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
