Job description

About the Role

A fast-growing, pre-seed AI startup in the talent and recruiting space is looking for a Founding Engineer Intern to join their founding team in San Francisco. You'll work directly with the CTO to ship features daily and help build a fully agentic system that automates headhunting end-to-end. This role puts you at the center of rapid experimentation with real ownership and high-impact outcomes — including time in hacker-house environments in Latin America.

What You'll Do
  • Build and ship features daily alongside the CTO to automate the recruiting process end-to-end.

  • Own full end-to-end development — from ideation to production — for core product features.

  • Collaborate with the founding team to design and ship components of an agentic AI system.

  • Talk to users and measure impact on hiring speed to drive rapid iteration.

  • Thrive in a founder-paced, high-output environment with daily feedback loops.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • At least 6 months of experience with React and TypeScript in a production environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, and Typesense in a production React/TypeScript stack.

  • Full-stack focus — not an ML engineer and not overly specialized in a single language (e.g. Python or C++).

  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive features from ideation to production independently.

  • Currently enrolled in or pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Something outstanding about your profile — top GPA, strong university, impressive projects, or an active GitHub.

  • Experience working in entrepreneurial, fast-paced, scrappy environments.

  • Willingness to work 7 days/week and participate in hacker-house setups in LatAm.

Nice to Have:

  • Portfolio or sample projects demonstrating full-stack development and open-source contributions.

Location

Based in San Francisco, CA. On-site role with hacker-house periods in Latin America. Visa sponsorship is available.
