Description

Primary Role

The Rental Account Manager drives rental revenue growth through territory management, jobsite penetration, and customer acquisition. This role focuses on building strong customer relationships, expanding market share, and collaborating with the branch team to deliver excellent service while maintaining a culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule will be a mix between time in the field (mainly) and in the office.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts within assigned territory.
  • Expand relationships with existing customers to increase rental opportunities.
  • Conduct regular job site visits, prescheduled office visits, and cold calls.
  • Present rental, trucking, and equipment sales solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Submit customer deals to the Rental Coordinator (RC) for processing.

Territory & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities and opportunities in CRM.
  • Track and pursue leads provided by RCs, GMs, and inbound inquiries.
  • Monitor and manage pipeline opportunities through all sales stages.
  • Ensure revenue targets and customer acquisition goals are consistently achieved.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with contractors and project managers.
  • Conduct follow-up visits to ensure customer satisfaction and introduce new solutions.
  • Resolve issues quickly by collaborating with the branch and operations teams.
  • Position the company as a trusted partner for rental, trucking, and equipment needs.

Collaboration & Branch Alignment

  • Work closely with Rental Coordinators to ensure accurate contracts and scheduling.
  • Partner with the GM to align sales efforts with branch operations and inventory.
  • Support branch-wide initiatives to improve customer experience and revenue growth.
  • Participate in weekly one-on-one reviews with the VP of Sales to assess progress.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and model a safety-first culture during all jobsite visits and customer interactions.
  • Ensure that equipment recommended and rented is safe, compliant, and fit for use.
  • Educate customers on safe rental practices and company safety standards.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns, hazards, or incidents encountered in the field.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • New account/customer acquisition.
  • Daily CRM activity logged and up to date.
  • Revenue targets consistently met or exceeded.
  • Customer retention and satisfaction in assigned territory.
  • Safety compliance during field activities.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven track record in outside sales, preferably in equipment rental, construction, or industrial services.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently in the field.
  • Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to promoting and maintaining a safety culture in all interactions.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel within assigned territory.
